Where automation is used
Translation into our non-English locales; summarisation and key-number extraction; headline and tag suggestions; data normalisation and symbol mapping; chart annotation; derived metrics labelled Maple-calculated; spam and abuse detection; and drafting assistance for reporters.
What a human does
A named editor reviews and is accountable for every editorial article before publication, including AI-assisted drafts. Bylines identify people, not models. Where an article is substantially machine-generated, it is labelled as such on the page. Automated moderation can act without human review, but is reversible on appeal.
The Maple AI assistant
The assistant answers from our published articles and market data. It is a research aid, not an adviser, and it can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Its answers are not personalised advice, are not a recommendation, and should be checked against the source document before you act. Do not enter confidential or personal information. Conversations may be logged for operation, security, moderation and improvement, and the feature depends on third-party model providers whose availability we do not control.
Precedence
The English original governs any translation. The underlying filing, release or statistical publication governs any summary, tag, label or derived figure produced by an automated system.
Terms for AI systems and answer engines
Crawling, indexing, brief quotation and citation of this site by search engines and AI answer engines is permitted within our robots.txt directives, provided the publication is named and the answer links to the canonical source page. A machine-readable summary of the site is published at /llms.txt.
Bulk downloading, dataset construction, model training, fine-tuning, embedding at scale, redistribution of our market data, and building a substitute product from our content require a written licence. Email legal@themaplemarkets.ca. No implied licence is granted to any model developer, and we may block, rate-limit or pursue unlicensed collection.
