The Accelerate Absolute Return Fund (HDGE.TO) aims to generate substantial long-term capital growth and achieve a superior risk-adjusted performance when compared to the wider Canadian equity market. Its strategy involves actively managing a portfolio of Canadian and U.S. listed equities: the fund strategically acquires stocks expected to appreciate significantly, while simultaneously short-selling others anticipated to decline. This dual approach is designed to surpass the Canadian equity market's returns over the long term, all while maintaining lower volatility. To manage risk, the total market value of short positions taken by HDGE is strictly limited to 50% of its Net Asset Value (NAV). Furthermore, the collective exposure stemming from cash borrowing, short selling, and specific derivative instruments will not exceed 50% of the fund's NAV.
