The Global X Active Preferred Share ETF (HPR) aims to generate consistent dividend income while protecting investors' initial capital. It primarily achieves this through active investment in preferred shares issued by Canadian corporations. HPR benefits from significant investment flexibility, allowing it to also allocate capital to preferred shares from U.S. companies, a diverse range of debt and fixed-income securities (including LRCNs) from both Canadian and U.S. issuers, Canadian equity securities, other income-generating instruments, and listed funds (including those issuing index participation units, and securities convertible into preferred shares). This broad mandate enables the construction of a diversified portfolio designed to enhance risk-adjusted returns and mitigate overall portfolio volatility. A key feature of HPR is its active management by Sub-Advisor Fiera Capital. The Fiera Capital team conducts extensive independent analysis on every security considered for the portfolio. Crucially, HPR is not restricted by an index methodology; Fiera Capital maintains full discretion to select, purchase, and sell preferred shares based on their expert assessment, without predefined constraints.
