These option contracts, which can be either exchange-traded or over-the-counter, are typically at-the-money or out-of-the-money and are expected to expire within one to three months. The manager retains discretion over the proportion of the portfolio hedged, the specific type of options employed, and their terms, basing these decisions on market conditions and available option premiums.
