Quarterhill Inc. operates internationally across two distinct business areas: intellectual property (IP) licensing and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Its Licensing segment manages an extensive portfolio of patents, covering various technological advancements such as wireless and wired communications, diverse memory technologies (including Flash, DRAM, and interface solutions), semiconductor design and packaging, automotive applications, computer gaming, intelligent personal assistants, enhanced image and streaming video processing, and analog circuitry. The Intelligent Systems division offers a comprehensive suite of products and services for advanced transportation infrastructure. This includes enforcement technologies like red light and speed cameras, automated weigh stations for trucks, and toll road equipment. Additionally, it provides sophisticated traffic management and safety platforms, featuring products such as the VectorSense tire sensor suite and the Vehicle Information-In-Motion traffic intelligence system.
