The rules for comments, boards, sentiment and reputation — written for a market forum, where the usual online nonsense is also a securities problem.
What this space is for
Discussing published filings, financings, drill results, macro data, positioning and the reasoning behind a view. Disagreement is welcome. Evidence is better than volume.
Disclose your position
If you hold, are short, are paid, are an insider, are a consultant to the issuer, or stand to gain from what you are posting, say so in the post. Undisclosed promotion is the single fastest way to lose an account here.
Never permitted
Pump-and-dump, ramping, coordinated promotion, wash or spoof talk, fabricated or leaked non-public information, forged documents, impersonating an issuer, regulator, employee or another user, and false or misleading statements about an issuer or a person.
Harassment, threats, hate speech, doxxing, sexual content, spam, referral-link farming, malware links, bulk automated posting, and vote or reputation manipulation including sockpuppets and ban evasion.
Soliciting investment, offering to manage money, running signal groups or paid tip services, or giving advice that requires registration you do not hold.
Enforcement
We may remove, hide, edit, label, demote, lock, rate-limit or refuse any content, and warn, suspend, shadow-limit or permanently ban any account, with or without notice. Moderation is discretionary and does not create a duty to moderate anything else. Serious cases — apparent market manipulation, threats, illegal content — may be reported to the relevant exchange, securities commission or police.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation action was wrong, email moderation@themaplemarkets.ca within 30 days with your username and a link to the content. A human reviews it. Our decision on appeal is final, and repeated bad-faith appeals may themselves be actioned.
Reporting
Use the report control on any post, or email moderation@themaplemarkets.ca. Reports are confidential; we do not tell the reported user who reported them.
What we do not do
We do not verify user claims, positions, credentials, screenshots or performance. Sentiment percentages and reputation scores are automated tallies of unverified input, are gameable, and are not research. Rely on them at your own risk.
