Ownership

The Maple Markets is owned and operated by The Maple Index Inc. It has no external shareholders, no undisclosed beneficial owners, and no issuer, brokerage, exchange or promoter holds an ownership interest in the publication.

If ownership changes, this page is updated before the change takes effect and the change is recorded in the update history below.

Update history

September 2026 — policy pages reviewed; drafter notes removed.

September 2026 — publisher's legal name added.

Funding

The publication is funded by advertising, clearly labelled sponsored and issuer-paid content, and subscription products. No funding source receives advance sight of editorial coverage, influence over what we cover, or the ability to review an article before publication.

Advertising

Advertising is sold separately from editorial and is visually and structurally distinct from newsroom content. Advertisers cannot buy editorial coverage, placement in editorial modules, or removal of unfavourable coverage. See the Advertising Policy for what we decline.

Issuer relationships

We cover Canadian issuers, including small-cap and exploration companies that sometimes also advertise. Where an issuer we cover has a current or recent commercial relationship with The Maple Markets, that relationship is disclosed on the article. We do not accept payment in securities, warrants, options or any other issuer paper.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are made by the newsroom alone. Commercial staff have no role in story selection, sourcing, framing or timing, and no article is withheld, altered or removed because of a commercial relationship.

Conflicts of interest

Contributors disclose personal holdings in any security they write about, and may not trade a security within 48 hours either side of publishing on it. Editors recuse themselves from coverage where they hold a position or a personal relationship with the subject.

Data sources

Market data, fundamentals, calendars and corporate actions come from licensed data providers and public regulatory sources including SEDAR+, SEDI, SEC EDGAR, the Bank of Canada and Statistics Canada. Quotes are delayed or previous-close unless a page states otherwise. Where a figure is calculated by us rather than reported by a source, it is labelled as Maple-calculated.

Contact

Questions about ownership, funding or a commercial relationship can be sent through the contact page and are answered by the publisher.
