Labelling
Commercial content carries a prominent label above the headline: Sponsored, Issuer Paid, Partner Content or Affiliate Content.
Disclosure box
Every commercial article carries a persistent disclosure box stating who paid for the content, whether the publisher or the author holds securities in the subject company, the nature of the commercial relationship, and the publication and campaign dates.
What is not permitted
Commercial content may never imitate independent editorial content without disclosure, and may never be presented as a recommendation from the newsroom.
Sponsored articles on this site
The Sponsored label identifies paid promotional content, not independent newsroom reporting. The sponsor pays The Maple Index Inc., publisher of The Maple Markets, for investor-relations, market-awareness or related media services. Each article’s disclosure identifies the paying client, the subject company, the relationship and the publication and campaign dates.
The sponsor does not review or approve the text before publication. The analysis is based on public disclosure available as of the publication date, with figures attributed to their primary sources.
The publisher and authors may hold positions in securities mentioned. No position is ever taken in exchange for coverage. Sponsored content is never a recommendation to buy, sell or hold a security and is not investment advice; conduct your own due diligence.
Questions about a sponsored piece, its disclosure or a commercial relationship can be sent to the desk through the contact page. Include the article’s title or URL.
