This actively managed ETF, PFAE, aims to achieve superior returns (alpha) while maintaining an overall market sensitivity similar to the broader equity market. It employs a distinctive 130/30 long/short equity strategy, allocating 130% of its capital to long positions and concurrently taking short positions equivalent to 30% of its assets, resulting in a gross equity exposure of 160%. Although primarily focused on Canadian stocks, the fund has the flexibility to invest up to 49% of its net exposure in international securities. The portfolio advisors utilize a proprietary investment methodology to construct the long and short portfolios, with the expectation of maintaining a net long exposure of 100% and a market beta of approximately 1.0.
