Homeland Nickel (TSXV: SHL) Raises C$3.04 Million a Cent Under the Tape. The Patriot IPO Still Has No Date

Homeland Nickel Inc. (TSXV: SHL) closed unchanged at C$0.39 on September 4, 2026, six days before a non-brokered placement of up to 8,000,000 units at C$0.38 is due to close. The document that matters more is the August 24 agreement with RAB Capital, which swapped 10,000,000 shares and 2.5 per cent of Patriot Nickel for a 2 per cent royalty and C$15 million of milestones. The Patriot IPO the discussion prices has no date, exchange, size or valuation in any release, and the Cleopatra and Red Flat estimates remain unpublished 2009 figures.

First Phosphate (FSE: KD0) Trades on Three Kinds of Numbers, and Only One Describes the Deposit

First Phosphate Corp. (CSE: PHOS, FSE: KD0) told shareholders on September 1, 2026 that holders of record had risen 861 per cent since the 2025 meeting, three weeks after its ADRs began trading on Nasdaq and a week after it filed an updated NI 43-101 resource of 198.5 Mt indicated at 6.00 per cent P2O5. The Loonie Has Two Engines: Why a 1.4-Point Rate Gap Is Only Half of the Canadian Dollar Story

The Bank of Canada's policy rate sat about 1.4 percentage points below the US effective federal funds rate in early September 2026, metals prices rose 4.2 per cent into August, and the loonie ended the week close to where it began. That stops being a puzzle once the currency is read as the net of two forces, the rate gap and the terms of trade. Here is how each one works, what the Bank's commodity index says about August, and what a five per cent move in the loonie does to a US$10,000 position.

The Title Changed, the Drill File Did Not: Reading F3 Uranium's (TSXV: FUU, FSE: GL7) 10 Per Cent Day

F3 Uranium Corp. (TSXV: FUU, FSE: GL7) closed at C$0.16 on September 4, 2026, up 10.34 per cent on 1.84 times its average volume, the first session after a 5:00 p.m. release naming president Raymond Ashley as VP Exploration in place of Sam Hartmann. The release changed who signs the technical disclosure and nothing in the drill file. Ranked from the top, the filed record is 11.8 million lb U3O8 indicated at the JR Zone, one assayed Tetra Zone hole, C$21.4 million of cash at March 31, a C$15 million Denison debenture and an unused shareholder authority to consolidate at up to 40-for-1.

The quote is not the margin: what a copper and gold week is worth to a Canadian mine in loonies

Copper traded at US$6.58 per pound on September 6, 2026, gold near US$4,331 per ounce on September 1, and the Bank of Canada's metals and minerals index rose 4.2 per cent in August. None of those is a Canadian producer's margin. This piece walks the arithmetic from the US-dollar quote through the exchange rate to the Canadian-dollar cash margin, shows what a five per cent stronger loonie does to it, and explains why a pre-revenue explorer reads the same week as a financing window.

World Copper (TSXV: WCU) Closed at C$0.175. The Financing Behind the Move Is Priced at C$0.075

World Copper Ltd. (TSXV: WCU) closed at C$0.175 on September 4, 2026, up 84.21 per cent on 16 times its average volume, after a morning release named two Westhaven Gold co-founders as executive chair and chief executive and announced up to 13,333,333 units at C$0.075 for up to C$1,000,000. The stock finished at more than twice the unit price of a financing that has not closed and would double the share count. Fully raised, the money is less than the C$1,150,000 the Brassie Creek option still requires, and the release does not say how many units the people who set the price will take.

Economyproductivity

GDP Growth Is Not Productivity Growth

Real GDP by expenditure grew 0.8% in the second quarter of 2026. That says nothing about whether output per hour worked improved — and for long-horizon investors, the second question is the important one.

CUSMA Has Become a Valuation Variable

The Pressure Event Is the Result: Reading QIMC's 30.0% Hydrogen Update at Bennett Hill

Québec Innovative Materials Corp. (CSE: QIMC) reported a record 30.0% H2 field reading at 413 metres in DDH-26-05 — then reported free gas reaching surface under apparent pressure between 413 and 416 metres, triggering repeated hydrogen alarms and halting the hole. Evidence for a mobile hydrogen-bearing system has strengthened. Evidence for reservoir performance has not. Benchmarked against MAX Power's completed-interval flow test at Lawson.

Volatus Aerospace Wins a Seat in Canada's Defence Drone Marketplace. The Harder Part Is Conversion

Volatus Aerospace (TSX: FLT) has been qualified as a supplier under the Department of National Defence's Defence Drone Initiative Marketplace, effective August 24, 2026 and running to July 31, 2031. The award carries no committed dollar value. Its worth depends entirely on whether pre-qualification converts into task authorizations before the company's C$59.2 million cash position is absorbed by an autonomy and manufacturing build-out that is still EBITDA-negative.

What You Actually Own in a TSX Index Fund

A Canadian index fund is described as diversified exposure to the Canadian market. It is more precisely a concentrated bet on financials, energy and materials, governed by rules worth reading.

Defense Metals trades on the TSX Venture Exchange as DEFN and on the OTCQB as DFMTF. Its principal asset is the 100%-owned Wicheeda rare-earth project in British Columbia. A late-2025 interim balance-sheet snapshot showed approximately C$16.5 million of cash and short-term investments with nominal conventional debt, although subsequent exploration and corporate spending will have changed that position.

Shopify's Take Rate, Decomposed

Shopify's revenue growth is usually explained by GMV growth. The larger part of the story is take rate — and take rate is a mix outcome, with very different margins behind each component.
